MIDDLE GRADE in the NEWS 9/27/18

Here are a few news and special feature articles I’ve enjoyed this week:

  1. It’s beginning to look a lot like Halloween season. I’m referring to 11 Children’s Books With Genuinely Terrifying Moments That Probably Gave You Nightmares.
  2. The Kirkus prize finalists have been announced. Only one of these six books for youth will win the top prize of $50,000. An MG title was featured on a recent MMGM.
  3. Here’s a Georgia middle grade media specialist making a difference with her Lunch Bunch Book Club. Now if we could continue it on through High School we might see more teens into reading.

That’s all for now. I’ll be back Friday with a new review.

  1. Thanks for these links. The Kirkus award finalists are all intriguing books. I would love to see the the Lunch Bunch Book Club replicated in all schools! The scary bits from kids books are indeed scary! I haven’t read all of them, and I will probably avoid a few of them. I don’t really enjoy being scared and reading the article scared me!

  2. Another valuable post, Greg. Thanks for sharing this news with us!

  3. Thank you for the links. A great post!
