  1. So fun to see the story behind the author! This is my favorite truth of James Ponti: As a kid, his favorite fictional characters were Indiana Jones, James Bond, and Encyclopedia Brown. Because I love them all too–as a kid and now still. 🙂

Happy Anniversary Greg 🥳 as for this post, my fave is #2.

  5. I love that James did not love to read as a kid – it’s why we keep writing, to try and create THE book that will turn someone into a reader

  6. I don’t need more books, but I am so intrigued by Mr. Ponti’s books that I can’t help myself. My favorite truth is #4 – One of his jobs was as a writer on the Mickey Mouse Club. Thanks for the fun post and the chance.

I also like that he has had rescue dogs.

  8. Melanie Dulaney's avatar Melanie Dulaney says:

I find it interesting that many MG authors are like James Ponti and weren’t big fans of reading as kids. I always want to know what flipped the switch for them so I can incorporate whatever that was into my interactions with kiddos, in the library and wherever else I connect with so called “reluctant readers.”
