Always in the Middle... 
So fun to see the story behind the author! This is my favorite truth of James Ponti: As a kid, his favorite fictional characters were Indiana Jones, James Bond, and Encyclopedia Brown. Because I love them all too–as a kid and now still. 🙂

I find it interesting that many MG authors are like James Ponti and weren’t big fans of reading as kids. I always want to know what flipped the switch for them so I can incorporate whatever that was into my interactions with kiddos, in the library and wherever else I connect with so called “reluctant readers.”
