THE BAND FROM ANOTHER WORLD

The third and final story in the Alien Survival Guide series will be available on Sept. 8. Leading up to it were I KNOW WHAT UFO DID LAST SUMMER followed by NIGHT OF THE LIVING TOILET PAPER. The engaging and fun storyline wraps up nicely in THE BAND FROM ANOTHER WORLD.

You will be fine reading this as a standalone if you’ve missed the others, but my guess is you will be going back to those first two adventures for more tense moments and the unique story line in each.

In this one Marv is once again on the search for extra terrestrials. He believes they may be in an empty house nearby. Joining him are his friends, who all have unique personalities. They enter the house and find… no aliens. Instead, they discover a basement full of musical instruments, enough for them to practice being a rock band. Sounds like fun, but upon playing the instruments all of them stop acting like their normal selves. Could the aliens somehow be transmitting their own broadcast to gain control?

No spoilers here so you can be surprised with each plot twist through Marv’s first person narration. The characters all have nick names thanks to Marv and he has given the newest member of the group the unflattering “Alien Lover” because Liv’s goal is to finally meet a supposedly friendly alien. That doesn’t work as planned.

You won’t be disappointed how the series wraps up in the final scenes. Getting there is a great reading experience with plenty of cliffhangers at the end of chapters. Each one keeps the adventurous plot moving forward with much anticipation for readers. Best for ages 10 and up THE BAND FROM ANOTHER WORLD would make a great gift for anyone who enjoys a contemporary setting with a large dose of science fiction.
